Elevate

A Youth Ministry for 4th Grade and Up

Alternating Sundays from 6:00 - 8:30 pm

Why ELEVATE?

The sole purpose of Elevate Student Ministries is to develop faith in Jesus Christ in the youth of our community. Period. We’re not in this to recruit for any particular church or to compare and compete with other programs. We’re in this to fan faith into flame and send kids back to their friends, families and schools with an ever-growing love for Jesus

Elevate Youth Ministries exists to REACH non-Christian students, to CONNECT them with other Christians, to help them GROW in their faith, to challenge the growing to SERVE others in love and to HONOR God with their lives.

Elevate Youth Ministries is for 4th-12th grade students and meets on alternating Sundays from 6-8:30pm except for a summer break.  We are passionate about encouraging and mentoring our students to grow as disciples of Jesus as they live out the purposes God has called all of us to.

These purposes are to:

Honor God deserves my whole heart...so I will live my life for Him
Reach Lost people matter to God...so I will tell my friends about Christ
Connect No one should stand alone...so I will experience life with other believers
Grow God wants to be known by me...so I will spend time with Him
Serve Everyone is uniquely gifted...so I will look for ways to make my mark

Our Mission Trip the summer of 2014 was with The Pittsburg Project, leaving Monday June 30th and returning Friday, July 4th.  Traveling with other churches in our Presbytery, we joined youth groups from churches across the country for a week of service for the elderly in Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburg Project is a christian nonprofit community development organization with a 28+ year track record of developing leaders and serving the city’s most vulnerable residents.  Their year-round staff of 30 operates a progressive series of afterschool and summer programs for more than 250 urban young people, deploys over 2,000 people annually to perform free home repairs for more than 200 of Pittsburg’s elderly homeowners annually, and spearheads economic development and job training efforts in our Pittsburg neighborhood.

The Pittsburg Project vision is that Pittsburg will be called a City of Truth, where once again men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets each with cane in hand because of age, and where the city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there (adapted from Zechariah 8:4-5).
