Back to School Fair

The Back to School Fair is held every year on the last Saturday before school starts and is one way we develop community, while meeting the needs of our neighbors in Jesus' name.  It's not just about giving away a thousand backpacks stuffed with grade-appropriate school supplies.  Stylists offer haircuts at a significant discount.  Consignors offer quality product at a fraction of retail while keeping 90% of the earnings.  Area agencies connect with people at the point of their need.  Local scouting, dance, acrobatic and karate studios put on demonstrations to recruit new members.  Other businesses donate supplies and/or advertise to make their connections.  And all the while a few dozen smiling volunteers take care of our guests.

In 2020 we held the Back to School program in the parking lot of Herr's as a drive-through experience due to the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result we were unable to have the additional services and entertainment. We look forward to resuming our usual program in 2021. Check back here in the spring of 2021 to see what our plans are, and to register to have a consignment booth at the fair.
